Introduction
Google hacking is a computer hacking technique thatuses Google Search and other Google
applications to find security holes in the configuration and computer code that websites use.
Hackers often use Google to find passwords, and confidential or sensitive documents that
companies do not realize are even available to the public.
Most computer people use Google, but do not know how to use all of its search parameters
What is Google?
Google is a Search Engine. Google receives several hundred million queries each day through its
various services.
The main purpose of Google is to hunt for text in WebPages, as opposed to other data, such as
with Google Image Search. Google keeps snapshots ofpages it has crawled that we can access
via the cached link on the search results page.
Without search engines like Google, it would be practically impossible to find the information
you need when you browse the Web.
Google uses a special algorithm to generate search results. This helps Google remain competitive
with other search engines on the Web and reduces the chance of someone finding out how to
abuse the system.
Overview of the Search Process

The exact percentage of the total of web pages thatGoogle indexes is not known, as it is very
hard to actually calculate. Google not only indexesand caches web pages but also takes
"snapshots" of other file types, which include PDF,Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Flash
SWF, plain text files, and so on.
The following steps are a part of the Google SearchFramework:
• CRAWLING
• INDEXING
• QUERY PROCESSING
• RANKING
CRAWLING:
This step initiates the round-the-clock activity ofsearch engines the accumulate data of the new
& updated content from all the web pages on the web. Crawlers / Spiders / Robots / Bots are
Search Engine specific software that collects data from the Web.
INDEXING:
This step is required for converting the unstructured page data to a structured format so that it
can be used efficiently for query processing.
QUERY PROCESSING:
This step takes the User query (Keyword) as its input, which the user enters into the SEARCH
BOX. The outcome of this step is the short listed pages from trillions of pages and which are
relevant for this query.
RANKING:
This is the final step of the search process. Google algorithm come into picture here and applies
around 200 factors to compare the short listed pages from the previous step.
A Web page's Page Rank depends on a few factors:
•The frequency and location of keywords within the Web page: If the keyword only appears once
within the body of a page, it will receive a low score for that keyword.
•How long the Web page has existed: People create new Web pages every day, and not all of
them stick around for long. Google places more value on pages with an established history.
•The number of other Web pages that link to the page in question: Google looks at how many
Web pages link to a particular site to determine its relevance.
